This project is based on collective effort to gather data and information about cyclists' perception of safety. This is an open call for all cyclists in London to:

Tell us how you perceive the road safety along the routes that you have cycled:

Further Information

In this study, I will ask you to look at photos taken by cyclists in London and to tell me how safe you think this part of the road. The aim is to understand how different road furniture and design might enhance/degrade the feeling of safety for cyclists.

The photos are taken by a camera positioned at the front of the bicycle; what you see in the photo is what you would have seen if you were cycling on this road.

You may see a photo with no cycling lane cars parked on the left and a bus on the right. How would you feel about your safety if you were cycling on this road and having to squeeze between these?

Another photo of the same road may be taken during low traffic and the road is empty. Does it mean that the road is safe? You are asked to consider the safety in different traffic conditions, not only those that are captured in the photo. As such, the best labels are given by those who have cycled these roads.

For any questions, please email  cyclist.safety.labeling@gmail.com.
